Group leader session Physics of Life
During NWO Biophysics, the research community committee Physics of Life (PoL) organises its yearly assembly for group leaders on Monday 6 October 16:50 in the Baroniezaal.
The NWO research community committee physics of life will inform you about their role of our committee within NWO and what we have recently achieved. The committee’s mission is to represent the scientists in our field, such that our opinions and experiences are optimally incorporated into NWO’s policies and funding schemes. The scientific landscape is continuously evolving and we aim to keep PoL an active, innovating, and well-funded community.
This years’ session will focus on the current situation for biophysicists in The Netherlands and what we as biophysicists bring to society and what opportunities are ahead of us or can be created. The importance of STEM-research and education is spread by the bèta in bestuur en beleid (BiBB) initiative. BiBB aims to bring the public policy and STEM worlds closer together by enhancing the presence of STEM-trained professionals in political and civil service roles. We are currently shaping a programme to inspire you as a community member to network and collaborate in order to contribute to making this research field future-proof. More information will follow.
As usually, there will be plenty of room to get to know your fellow group leaders active in the PoL field, with a special emphasis on introducing new members of the community.
