PI Meeting Physics of Life
BaroniezaalDuring NWO Biophysics, the Research Community Committee Physics of Life (PoL) organises their annual assembly for group leaders.
The committee will provide an update on its role within NWO and its mission to represent scientists in the field, ensuring that the perspectives and experiences of the community are reflected in NWO policies and funding schemes.
As the scientific landscape continuously evolves, the committee aims to help keep PoL an active, innovative and well-funded community. In this context, we will explore during the meeting how the PoL community can position itself for future funding opportunities connected to the National Technology Strategy (NTS) Biomolecular & Cell Technologies (BCT) Action Agenda. Through inspiring examples of successful academia–industry collaborations, an introduction to public–private partnerships, and interactive discussions on opportunities, challenges and community needs, we aim to identify how fundamental research communities can contribute to and benefit from emerging innovation and funding landscapes.
As usual, there will be plenty of room to get to know your fellow group leaders active in the PoL field, with a special emphasis on introducing new members of the community. While the meeting is initiated from the physics of life perspective, the themes are equally relevant to researchers active in related fields, including Chemistry of Life and applicable Life Sciences Research Communities. We therefore warmly welcome PIs from these communities to join the discussion, exchange experiences with your fellow researchers, industry representatives and other stakeholders, and help shape future collaborative and funding opportunities.
